Today it was announced that the San Jose Sharks have signed Barrie Colts forward Kevin Labanc to a standard entry level contract. The Sharks Drafted Labanc in the 6th round (171st overall) at the 2014 NHL Draft. That was the same draft Aaron Ekblad was selected first overall and former Colt Brendan Lemieux was selected 31st overall.
Labanc currently leads the OHL in points with 119 points. He leads the league in assists with 81. Over 3 seasons with the Colts, Kevin has played in 192 regular season games where he has put up 80 goals and 181 assists for a total of 261 points. He also has a +74 for those of you that still hold value in +/=.#SJSharks sign 2014 #SharksDraft pick @Str8ToTheBanc to a standard, entry-level contract. https://t.co/K5XXiMxLOL pic.twitter.com/i4W2bPT2uL— San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) March 9, 2016
Congratulations to Kevin Labanc and the San Jose Sharks. (psst, we still feel you stole this guy a 171st in 2014.)
Enjoy some of these fun photoshops we have made of Labanc over the years!
